Following on from last week, I continued working on my final illustration.

At this point I felt like I was almost finished, but it seemed to lack depth, and even though the idea was to have a lot of white it still felt a little too much. So I edited a little bit, darkened it a little and finally felt that I was done. I made a portrait version as well, like most of my other paintings because I'm still not 100% sure what size book I want.

So this is my final painting. I'm pretty pleased with it overall, I'm happy with the background and I think it fits with the character quite well, she doesn't get lost in it either, which I was worried about having white ontop of white. But I just made her more pink toned and the snow more blue toned so it contrasts quite nicely, but still reads as white clothing and white snow.

Once this was finished, (I finished it on thursday) I started thinking about the next phobia I was going to do. I was torn between the fear of dolls and the fear of mushrooms. I decided to do the fear of dolls first. I went back to pinterest and gathered some references of dolls.

I knew that this one would look quite different from the others, proportion wise at least. Because this time I wasn't going to try and paint a human, I was going to paint a doll, and to get that doll look I knew I'd have to play around with proportion.

Once I'd gathered ref I started doing some really quick sketches.

By the time I had done these, it was the end of the week! I'll continue working on this next week.
