FMP Week 6

This week I felt a lot better, still kinda ill but I felt like I could get a bit more work done! I decided to start working on a new phobia. I decided to base it on Papyrophobia, which is the fear of paper. I had an idea of what I wanted this to look like before I started. I knew I wanted it to be based on someone who was made of paper and was being torn apart. I decided to make my iterations a lot more rough, so that I could work a little quicker (because even though I scheduled in time to get ill, I still feel kind of behind.)

I decided to do even simpler sketches, because I figured since it's based on paper, I'd work over one of these iterations with scraps of paper, scan it in and try and use it as a basis for my final illustration.

I ripped her up a bit more, and added scraps of paper for the outfit and hair. I'm happy with how the dress looks, not the hair though, so I painted over that, as well as the face.

I worked in greyscale as I was painting, mainly because I found it a little easier, and I wanted her to be quite faded so I was going to go over with a colour gradient to try and get a washy/faded effect.

Towards the end of the week I was still working on the face, I decided to have it tearing apart, so made her screaming (since it'd probably be painful) I also changed the hair a bit, but I'm not too sure about the hair still at this point, so I might change it again. I'm going to continue working on it next week, and then work on the illustration too.
